Our Practice in New Brunswick

Dr. Arnold Brown is a native of Riverview, N.B. He moved to Saint John after graduating from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 1977. He was awarded the contact lens proficiency award in his graduating class.  Dr. Brown served as a councillor and later as the Registrar of the New Brunswick Association of Optometrists, a board member on the Canadian Examiners in Optometry, and a board member of Eye Recommend, a national optometrists’ cooperative. Dr. Brown is married with two adult children and two grandchildren, and enjoys travelling, photography, and golf. He is an active member of True Life Church.

Dr. Krista Daigle is a native of Fredericton, N.B. and joined the practice in 1996 after graduating from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry. She also received a BSc from the University of New Brunswick. Krista lives a very diverse and physically-active lifestyle and is always on the go. She’s involved in many sports herself and is the mother of two active, young girls. Her pleasant personality makes her a joy to be around.

Dr. Wear is a native of Halifax and joined our practice after having graduated with his doctorate in Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 2005. In addition, he holds an undergraduate in Biochemistry from the University of New Brunswick and has training towards a Masters in retinal neurophysiology from Dalhousie University.   He earned several academic awards from all three universities including an NSERC for medical research (Dalhousie) and the J.C. Thompson Memorial Award for ranking highest in clinical optometry (University of Waterloo).  Outside of work he can be found enjoying family time, kayaking and woodworking.

Dr. McLeod is a native of Quispamsis who received her BSc degree from UNB Fredericton in 2003, and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 2007.  She practiced in Quispamsis from 2007 until 2011 before moving to Edmonton, Alberta, and returned home in 2018.

Dr. Elkin was born and raised in Saint John, NB. She graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry on the Dean’s honor list in 2016 after completing a Bachelor of Commerce from Mount Allison University in 2009.

Dr. Elkin lives in Quispamsis with her husband Patrick, son Jack and dog Maverick. She enjoys working with such an amazing team at Dr. Brown & Associates and looks forward to helping the practice grow.
